Candidate for School Board Trustee — Waterloo Region District School Board

Mandy Kaur is a dedicated educator, community-minded leader, and lifelong advocate for learning who is passionate about creating better opportunities for every student.

Having grown up in the Waterloo Region, Mandy has a deep connection to the community and a firsthand understanding of the importance of strong, inclusive, and supportive schools. From an early age, she developed a passion for teaching and a strong desire to serve her community—especially by contributing to the education and well-being of children and youth.

Mandy brings a strong academic and professional background to her candidacy. She has an MS in Construction, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, education and professional training in Project Management and Human Resources Management, and is PMP certified. She has also served as an Instructor at Conestoga College, where she gained valuable experience working with learners, supporting their development, and understanding the challenges and opportunities within education.

Her experience as an educator has strengthened her belief that education is about more than academics. Students need safe and inclusive environments, strong support systems, engaged families, dedicated educators, and opportunities to develop the skills and confidence they need for the future.

Over the years, Mandy has observed both the strengths of our education system and areas where meaningful improvements can be made. She believes that the voices of students, parents, educators, and the wider community must be heard when important decisions are being made.

As a candidate for Waterloo Region District School Board Trustee, Mandy is committed to bringing a thoughtful, collaborative, and accountable approach to leadership. She wants to advocate for student success, safe and inclusive schools, stronger parent and community engagement, support for educators, responsible use of public funds, and future-ready education.

Mandy believes that every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Her goal is simple: to listen, to serve, and to work together to build a stronger school community and a brighter future for our students.
